The official McInnes/Northover breakfast staple.
Amounts are roughly right, but vary as you see fit.
- 1kg porridge oats
- 50g desiccated coconut
- 50g flaked almonds
- 30g whole almonds
- 50g linseeds
- 100g raisins
- 40g pumpkin seeds
- 40g sunflower seeds
- 50g dates
Separately, dry-fry the coconut, flaked almonds, pumpkin and sunflower seeds until they're light brown and toasted at the edges. Don't burn'em.
Similarly toast the whole almonds and then chop them, lengthways in half if you want to do it proper.
Slice the dates into chunk (one date becomes about five bits the size of a raisin).
When all toasted things are cool, mix all the ingredients in a big bowl, then get it all into a large jar or bag.
